Executive committee

TERREAL is managed by an Executive Committee chaired by Laurent Musy. The Committee provides operational management for the Group and prepares the ground for all strategic decisions affecting the company's future. 

Laurent MUSY - CEO

An engineer by training, Laurent Musy holds a degree from the Ecole des Mines in Paris and an MBA from INSEAD. 

After an initial spell at Saint-Gobain, he was a consultant with McKinsey from 1994 to 1998 before spending ten years in the aluminium industry in France and Australia at Pechiney, Tomago Aluminium and Alcan (now Rio Tinto Alcan).  

He went on join Constellium, first as head of the Packaging and Automotive Division from 2008 to 2014 and then as an executive director and Chief Executive of the Aerospace and Transport Division until 30 July 2015. He has been CEO of the Terreal Group since 1 July 2015.

Georges LE DONGE - Group Finance Director

Holder of a BA in Philosophy, a graduate of Sciences Po, Paris (Economics and Finance) and a qualified French accountant, Georges Le Donge joined TERREAL as Group Finance Director shortly after the LBO in 2004. 

He began his career in 1982 as an auditor with Arthur Andersen, before becoming head of the finance department at pharmaceutical group Ipsen in 1989. Following Ipsen's 1998 LBO, carried out in conjunction with two private equity firms, he served as the company's Group Finance Director and arranged for its subsequent flotation on the stock exchange.

Jean-Baptiste FAYET - Director of Sales & Marketing (France)  

Jean-Baptiste Fayet holds a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1999-2000), prior to which he studied at the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (1997-1999) and the Ecole Polytechnique (1994-1997). 

He began his professional career in 2000 as a Senior Associate Consultant with Boston Consulting Group in Paris, before joining TERREAL in 2002 as Managing Director (Asia), based in Kuala Lumpur. He held this position for ten years, managing the Group companies in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and China.  Returning to France in 2012, he took up the role of National Sales Director, subsequently becoming Sales Director (Roofing) in 2013. He now serves as Director of Sales and Marketing (France) for all four product areas (Roofing, Structure, Decoration, Façade).

Yvan FERNON - Director of Production

After graduating in engineering from the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (Paris), Yvan Fernon began his career in 1981 as a Technical Design Engineer at ESSO SAF's Fos-sur-Mer refinery, before going on to take up the roles of Energy Service Manager and Despatch Service Manager. He then joined pulp, paper and packaging specialist International Paper in 1987, where he served successively as Director of Production, Technical Director and Chief Executive of Souche Papers. In 2002, he joined Monier Group (formerly Lafarge Roofing), initially as Operations Director for Cement Plants, later serving as Director of Terracotta Manufacturing at Lafarge Roofing and as Director of Production at Monier Benelux and Monier SAS. 

Mr Fernon joined TERREAL as Group Director of Operations in July 2014 and was appointed Director of Production in September 2015.

Fabienne PECHEUL - Director of Human Resources

Fabienne Pécheul is a graduate of IAE Lyon III and SAA Turin, as well as a certified coach and the holder of a CESA in Human Resources from HEC. 

She began her career in 1992 in the finance department of Matra Nortel in Italy and France, before working as company secretary at Cirpack and Thomson Technicolor. After serving as divisional director of international human resources at various international chemical companies, she became Director of Human Resources for France and Spain at DS Smith Packaging in 2012. 

Ms Pécheul joined the TERREAL Group as Director of Human Resources in June 2015.

Florence PETIT - Director of Strategy and Business Development

Florence Petit is a graduate in Management and Finance from ESSEC Business School. 

Before joining TERREAL, she spent two years as Finance Director at Desenfans, a market leader in kitchen, bathroom, plumbing and heating supplies. From 2007 to 2012, she worked at Bonna Sabla, initially as Director of Purchasing and member of the Executive Committee and then as Finance Director and Deputy CEO. 

She has also been head of French and North American expansion in the precast concrete division of leading international building materials supplier CRH plc, and was co-founder of CII Participations and Welcome Office, for which she was respectively head of finance and head of strategy, marketing and development.

Board of Directors

TERREAL's board of directors is a non-executive body made up of experts from the manufacturing and construction industries. 

The board was constituted in its current form on 29 January 2014. Its primary role is to approve all strategic decisions taken by the Group, as well as to approve the company's financial statements. It is made up of three independent voting directors, each of whom has had an exceptional career in industry.

Gilles AUFFRET - Non-Executive Chairman

A graduate of the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris, the Ecole Polytechnique and the Ecole Nationale d'Administration, Gilles Auffret has served as Director of INSEE, Magistrate at the Court of Auditors and Director General of Pechiney Aluminium. He joined Rhodia (Chemicals) in 1999 as Managing Director of the Polyamide Division before becoming General Operations Director in 2001. As CEO of Rhodia in 2011 and a member of the Executive Committee of Solvay, he led the merger of the two groups.

Bertrand DUMAZY - CEO, Edenred

An alumnus of ESCP-Europe and Harvard Business School, Bertrand Dumazy began his career at the consulting firm Bain, working primarily in the Paris and Los Angeles offices. He returned to France in 1999 to join the private equity firm BC Partners. He went on to found Constructeo, a start-up specialising in construction site management software, which he later sold to Bricsnet. In 2002, he joined market-leading mail solutions provider Neopost as Director of Marketing and Strategy, going on to serve as CEO of the French subsidiary and Group Finance Director. He subsequently served as CEO of Deutsch, a New-York based global specialist in harsh-environment electrical connections, from 2011-2012. In 2012, he joined Materis as Deputy Group CEO and Chief Executive of MaterisPaints.

Patrick MATHIEU - CEO, Armacell

Currently CEO (since 2012) of insulation manufacturer Armacell International, Patrick Mathieu has extensive professional experience in the construction industry, having worked for over 20 years in a number of positions in the Saint-Gobain Group, including as CEO of Weber & Broutin France (external rendering). He was subsequently CEO (Western Europe) for the Insulation Division at Saint-Gobain, before becoming head of gypsum building materials, insulation and mortar products for the Europe/Mediterranean region. Before taking charge of Armacell, he was also President for Western Europe and head of the International Flooring Division at Tarkett, a major global flooring manufacturer.


The Board of Directors also includes three non-voting observers, who represent the investors and assist the directors in determining TERREAL's development strategy:
