The Piterak Slim range of clay cladding products can be installed vertically using the V-Clip© process. The V-Clip© system is a fastening system consisting of a high performance steel wire clip that snaps onto a horizontal rail. It allows vertical fixing even on curved surfaces. Technical notice for vertical installation n°2 / 13-1542*V2.

Some older product ranges can be replaced by current products. All replacement procedures should be investigated by the façade technical department who will then propose the most suitable solution in terms of product and fixing system.

Clay products can be customised in many different ways: the various product ranges offer standard mass colours as well as different glaze and slip options. On special request, we can develop glaze colours based on RAL codes. The technical department of the facade, in conjunction with the factory laboratory, carries out this feasibility study.

Preventive anti-graffiti treatment can be a suitable solution for protecting the lower parts of structures in some cases. Some of the products used may change the visual appearance. A preliminary test on the substrate is preferable. A product such as Silreca sacrificial from Reca or Protectosil WS 405 from Evonik Industries can be considered. The duration of protection of the work with this type of product may vary over time depending on the environment and the type of product used. Cleaning solutions exist (high pressure sand/water spraying, cleaning with chemical solvents). The study of these solutions is to be seen with a specialised company.

The main differences between terracotta and ceramics are the raw materials used in their manufacture and the firing process. The two processes therefore lead to different mechanical characteristics when fired.

It is possible to request certain product samples in order to analyse their texture and appearance. To do this, please use the contact form and provide as much information as possible about your project so that our teams can best guide you.

As terracotta is a non-combustible material, its fire resistance is classified A1. For certain uses, such as public buildings. (ERP) or a residential building subject to fire regulations, the recommendations described in IT249 must be respected.

In order to ensure sufficient ventilation in the air space between the clay cladding and the insulation, a ventilated air space of at least 20mm is required.
