A sensation of lightness is reinforced by the perfectly orchestrated building transparency: omnipresent, glass walls and generous windows thus reverse the tradition of university clinics to hide in spaces devoid of natural light. The contemplative garden that adjoins major campus traffic patterns further strengthens the architecture’s links with nature and provides the building additional vitality.
Nothing was left to chance in this project entirely designed to provide a friendly and welcoming place for students. Chosen to echo the adjacent existing buildings, the terracotta is interpreted in a very contemporary and graphic way: a compact arrangement, light gray and gray storm, and horizontal laying in which the Piterak XS reveal their modernity without betraying the marked architectural context of the campus. The use of Autan XL baguettes dress-up large glazed spaces to protect the building from heat while making the most of the light. Installed at a standard spacing on the main building, the sunshades are twice as close on the entrance hall to ensure optimal thermal comfort but, more importantly, emphasize the main entrance of the building. The perfect illustration of the creative potential of terracotta: infinite possibilities...
