Terreal has adopted an Environmental & Energy Policy based on a management system.
We are making daily progress towards reducing our environmental footprint and working to generate a positive impact on our ecosystems. In order to structure and harmonise the approach, all our sites will eventually be certified ISO 14001 and ISO 50001.Today, Terreal has adopted an Environment & Energy Policy.

What is the framework for this policy?

The Environment & Energy Policy serves as the basis for the environmental and energy management system. This will be certified by the international standards ISO 14 001 [environmental management] and ISO 50 001 [energy management] in the coming years

What is ISO 14 001 and 50 001?

Based on continuous improvement, ISO 14 001 certification is proof of a constant commitment to controlling the environmental impacts (pollution, waste treatment, natural resource management, etc.) resulting from our activities. ISO 50 001 certification attests to responsible and well thought-out energy management and allows us to improve the energy performance of our sites.

Structuring our Environment/Energy approach and moving towards the certification of our management systems is a strategic priority for Terreal. Aware of our footprint on the planet and of our role as a company committed to the preservation of natural resources and the reduction of CO2 emissions, we are making daily progress towards the control and reduction of our environmental impacts and working to generate a positive impact on our ecosystems.

New GHG report from Terreal France

Terreal sponsors the association Le Printemps de Septembre

In 2021, TERREAL is sponsoring the association "Le Printemps de Septembre" to build an ephemeral brick pavilion at the Institut Supérieur des Arts et Design de Toulouse for the 30th edition of the "Le Printemps de Septembre" festival in Toulouse. With a donation of more than 2,300 bricks, TERREAL wished to support cultural and artistic initiatives as well as to participate in this educational project where specialised students learned how to build the structure. After the event, the bricks were collected by training centres in order to give them a second educational life.

Circular economy, study with ENSAL for the recovery of construction site soil

Since 2015, TERREAL has regularly offered study topics to young architectural students at ENSAL, whose mission is to experiment and prototype with materials for architectural projects. Nearly 5 projects by some thirty students have been presented in this way, two of which have led to the filing of patents. In 2021, Terreal proposed to the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Lyon (ENSAL) a study partnership as part of its students' curriculum. This project, in line with the Group's commitment, highlights the interest of using these soils in combination with clay products, such as the Brique Hauteur d'Etage.
